For many, the holiday brings laughter and joy as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. The season is filled with shopping, eating, parties, gifts, warm fires, snow (at least for some of you!!!), crafts, Christmas goodies . . .

But one thing we forget too often is the opportunity to share our faith during this special time of year. Many people celebrate Christmas and in reality they have no relationship with the One whose birth they are celebrating. How sad to live an entire life celebrating Christmas, wishing everyone a “Merry Christmas,” going to church for Christmas sermons, plays, and musicals, and yet not have a true saving relationship with this amazing Savior.

In my reading in Ezekiel today, I noted these words from 3: 17-19

“Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me.”

God's words to Ezekiel can be piercing! God expects us, His faithful children, to warn people about the dangers of rejecting the free gift of salvation He offers. Part of living in obedience to God is for us to be instruments in the hands of God, readily accepting our responsibility to be the voice of God among those we are around every day. My prayer today is that every believer will accept this responsibility with a new fervor and that we will shout it from the mountaintops that “Jesus Christ is Lord!” During this Christmas season, the platform for telling others about Jesus is grand and available. Tell somebody about Jesus Christ today!
